USA Today reports:

Continuing protests around the world over cartoons of the prophet Mohammed have drawn the attention of security officials in Torino, Italy, where the Winter Olympics open Friday.
The Associated Press reports that Torino's police chief "acknowledged that new security concerns had arisen because of the recent far-flung rioting by Muslims." Of particular concern: the safety of athletes from Denmark and other western European nations. It was a Danish newspaper that first printed the cartoons.
Asked if athletes from Denmark and other countries targeted by the riots would receive extra security, the AP says chief Rodolfo Poli replied rhetorically, "What would you do?"

Suggestion: if incompetent police are overcome by terrorists who take hostages, let the grownups come in and take charge. What's the worst that could happen? A terrorist strike will encourage more rioting regardless of whether the strike is successful.

Oh, and by the way, if, God forid, a Munich-like tragedy occurs, and evidence points to a certain country on the above list, expel that country from the Games. Permanently. Then, after the explusion has sunk in, cancel them - and say why you are doing so, you Euroweenies
